Over the weekend

This weekend my friend invited me over for her birthday party. I was so excited to get out of the house and see some of my friends. They are the people who I met while studying in Wolverhampton and luckily they are Dutch as well so we can keep in touch like this! She made beautiful food and we had a slumber party and watched Geordie Shore and movies all night. I love doing things like this <3. It was also nice to get out of the house for a while, even though I am SO TIRED now! But it was all worth it.

Ugh, I'm getting hungry again. The night was a tapas evening and she made the most delicious food. Luckily my friend is an amazing cook as well because if I was the one making the food it would not have ended so well. Consequence: we ate until we couldn't walk anymore.

At the end of the evening we all had gave us her presents and then me and some friends stayed over and some friends left. I had an amazing time and I also had time to make a shameless selfie:

(Finally) Spring

Images belong to @joelpenkman

It's really spring! I will spend my days eating ice cream, frozen yoghurt and relaxing. My placement has a two week break which feels so damn good. This weekend 0023am and I are going to an opening of the Japanese Gardens in The Hague and I'm excited. Happy weather y'all!

Easter Monday

Last weekend was Easter. We are not very religious so we don't go to church in this weekend but we like to make it a family weekend nonetheless. We do give our prayers and give thanks. I loved this years Easter, especially the dinner we had on Easter Monday; it was so delicious! I have been told that this way of eating is particularly Dutch, even though it has a French name: 'gourmet'. It basically means that you have a hot plate in the middle of the table, you put some oil on it and bake everything yourself! I would definitely recommend it. We had such nice pieces of meat, lots of veggies and beautiful sauces. What a way to spend a Monday evening, eh? This year we kept it quiet, only my grandparents came over but it was such a lovely evening that my mind was kept at ease and I could breath again for some time. This weekend was full of celebrations (my brother turned 18) and of homework. But I think spring is upon us! Could it be true?

An Amsterdam High Tea

Yesterday I met up with all the ladies I've met in Wolverhampton. I really like to do these sort of reunions because it gives you the feeling of mutual excitement and nostalgia. As we know each other from England, we thought that it was only fitting that we did a high tea. There are not so much places that do high teas in Amsterdam, however we found a beautiful spot at the Bickers aan de Werf. It was so delicious! I really needed this, just to be away from your every day routine and just meet up with lovely people and just have a lot of girl talk. Every girl needs that every once in a while. Luckily I found a group that feels the same. I must say that not everyone could make it this time, which was a real shame. We still miss two of the Dutch girls and of course the Swedish ladies were deeply missed. However, this weekend was a good one. And we did it in style, we met up and just eat. A little reminiscence of Wolverhampton where we would also meet up, talk and play some games and, more importantly, eat together.

(for those who read this and do not know me, I'm the one with the blue/pink scarf. Hello!)
